Dr. med. Riccarda Rau

Dr. Rau is a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery, with additional qualifications in special trauma surgery. She completed her training at the MTK Clinics in Bad Soden, where she gained extensive knowledge and experience in trauma surgery over 12 years under the professional guidance of Prof. Dr. U. Horas. As a senior physician at the clinic, Dr. Rau regularly treated and provided interdisciplinary care for patients with multiple and severe injuries at the regional trauma center, as well as geriatric trauma patients at the geriatric trauma center. During her advanced training for the additional qualification in special trauma surgery, she also served as a designated physician for occupational accidents (D-Arzt), a designation recognized by the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV). In her role as a designated physician for occupational accidents, Dr. Rau treats work-related, commuting, and school accidents, specializing in fractures of the upper and lower extremities. As a former long-time member of the national judo team, Dr. Rau has a strong connection to sports medicine. She has also obtained qualifications in sports medicine and physical therapy, and she is particularly passionate about treating sports-related injuries. Her goal is to provide patients with individualized and expert care so they can quickly return to their activities.
