Dr. med. Dirk Eiwanger

Dr. Eiwanger has extensive experience in orthopedic and trauma surgery at various hospitals. Alongside his extensive surgical training, he has concentrated on hip, knee, and shoulder joint surgeries involving artificial joints since the early stages of his career. This focus allowed him to engage in the pioneering phases of surgical navigation and robotics, as well as in the development of digital 2D-to-3D planning for artificial joints around the turn of the millennium. Throughout his career, Dr. Eiwanger has performed hip surgeries using all minimally invasive techniques and a diverse range of implants. He has also honed his skills in complex revision surgeries and in treating fractures near prostheses. A key area of his expertise is the use of patient-specific 3D-planned joint implants during the implantation of artificial hip and knee joints.
