About the offer

Selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT), or radioembolization, is an outpatient medical procedure that uses tiny beads with radioactive substances to deliver high doses of radiation to cancer cells. It is usually used to cure cancer metastasizing to other body parts or cannot be treated with standard surgery. During SIRT, a small catheter is put into the leg vessels to put tiny beads or spheres into the blood vessels that feed the cancerous tumors. The dots slowly release the radioactive material, eliminating the cancer cells. First, complex testing is done to establish if SIRT is an appropriate treatment. The diagnostic includes CT, MRI, and blood lab testing. SIRT is performed under conscious sedation. Once the small catheter is placed, radioactive beads are delivered into the tumor arteries. After the procedure, mild discomfort or soreness may occur. Radioembolization is a targeted therapy that works directly on cancer cells. It lowers the chance that the treatment will hurt healthy tissue. SIRT can be done without cuts and surgery. It can be helpful for people who can't have surgery. SIRT effectively shrinks or eliminates tumors in some patients, relieving their symptoms and improving their lives. Radioembolization treatment is safe with a low chance of side effects.
