Lutetium is commonly used for castration-resistant advanced metastatic prostate cancer. The drug itself is a liquid with a radioactive material. LU-177 PSMA treatment aims to kill cancer cells by beta radiation from the isotope Lutetium-177. The radioactive particle binds specifically to prostate cancer cells regardless of their location. As a result, the drug destroys the primary tumor and distant metastases. Our doctors perform blood tests and assess liver and kidney function before the procedure.
