Open rhinoplasty surgery

Open rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery to restore the shape of the nose or its respiratory function using an external incision. The operation is performed under general anesthesia. Previously, the patient must pass the tests prescribed by the surgeon. Usually, rhinoplasty is carried out by an otolaryngologist or a facial plastic surgeon. During the correction, the plastic surgeon makes an incision at the base of the columella (the area of skin between the nostrils). Next, he makes a small marginal incision from the columella into each nostril. The external incision allows the surgeon to examine in detail all nose structures, assess the condition of the cartilage and bone structures, and give them the necessary shape. Next, soft tissues are crocheted upward and separated from the cartilage with scissors. Finally, the doctor can move parts of the cartilage and bones, install unique nasal implants, etc. In the end, the surgeon applies a thin seam. Next, silicone ducts are inserted into the nasal passages, and a solid plaster cast is applied. The nose job takes about 2-2. 5 hours. Then, the patient is transferred to the ward. The plaster cast is removed 7-9 days after the operation.
