Rheumatological examination

A rheumatological examination is a medical study performed by a rheumatologist specializing in diagnosing and treating rheumatic diseases. A medical history will be discussed, and patients may be asked about their current and past symptoms and any medicines they take. During the physical exam, the doctor will check the joints, muscles, and other body parts for signs of swelling or damage. They may also do many tests to see how well the muscles and joints work and to check the range of motion. A doctor could do numerous lab tests, including blood tests, the rheumatologic panel, standard tests, and other studies, to look for signs that help detect inflammation. Or they look for other illnesses that can affect the joints. Imaging studies to diagnose - X-rays, ultrasound and CT scans of a joint will be used. They all help check for inflammation, joint damage, or other issues. The definite results of the exam are used to help the rheumatologist make a diagnosis, followed by a recommendation for a treatment plan. A rheumatological check-up is a complex test, and the exact methods used during the exam can change depending on the doctor doing it and the patient's condition.
