Prof. Dr. med. Christoph Stippich

Prof. Dr. med. Christoph Stippich is an internationally renowned neuroradiologist and a pioneer in the clinical application of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Currently serving as the Medical Director of Neuroradiology and Radiology at Kliniken Schmieder in Allensbach, he bridges the interface between acute diagnostics and long-term neurorehabilitation. His clinical career has been marked by leadership roles at premier European institutions, including the University Hospitals of Basel and Zurich. Professor Stippich is particularly expert in presurgical brain mapping, where his work allows surgeons to perform radical resections of brain tumors while meticulously preserving essential functions like language and motor control. His research portfolio is extensive and highly interdisciplinary, spanning over scientific publications and several foundational textbooks on functional neuroimaging. He is a leading voice in the "radiomics" movement, which uses artificial intelligence and high-dimensional data analysis to extract hidden information from medical images for personalized therapy.
