Dr. med. Raimund Völker

Dr. Völker studied at the Free University of Berlin and completed study abroad periods at the Surgical Clinic in Prague, Czech Republic, and at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, USA. He completed his surgical residency under Professor H. D. Clevert at the DRK Clinics Berlin, an academic teaching hospital affiliated with Charité Berlin.  As a senior surgeon specializing in visceral and thoracic surgery under the supervision of PD Dr. P. Schneider, Dr. Völker gained valuable experience in tissue-sparing endoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques. To further enhance his surgical expertise, he worked with PD Dr. H. Schauwecker, Head of Trauma Surgery, and Prof. M. Faensen, Head of the German Center for Hip Resurfacing at DRK Clinics Berlin. Trauma surgery and hip surgery became the focus of his practice, and he ultimately dedicated himself exclusively to hip surgery. From 2008 to 2009, Dr. Völker served as a consultant at the Schreiber Clinic in Munich. Since 2009, he has been a founding member of the ATOS Clinic Munich and has led the Hip Center there. From 2010 to 2017, he worked as a hip specialist at the Josephinum Clinic in Munich. In addition to his role at the ATOS Clinic, he has also been working at the Clinic Dr. Decker since 2017. Dr. Völker is the head of the Munich Hip Center and specializes in hip surgery, focusing on bone-preserving and minimally invasive techniques that aim to alter the hip joint as little as possible. A unique aspect of his practice is that he focuses on a single joint, offering significant advantages for patients. In addition to performing standard joint replacements, he is internationally recognized as one of the most experienced surgeons in hip resurfacing, a procedure akin to dental crowns, in which only the surface of the bone is treated. Dr. Völker has gained particular acclaim for his expertise with short-stem implants. He exclusively uses proven, original implants and regularly conducts teaching and training surgeries, both in Germany and internationally.
