About the offer

Total parotid gland removal (total parotidectomy) primarily performs as a method of choice if the vast majority of parotid gland mass is affected by cancer. During total parotid removal surgery, all the parotid glands are removed from one or less often both sides. Before starting the parotid gland cancer surgery, medical practitioners must conduct a deep check-up on the patient’s medical status, verify the diagnosis, and prepare the patient for further treatment. The operation requires general anesthesia, so performing specific tests is essential to help ensure the patient can overcome the narcosis. During a treatment, surgeons create a cut above the projection of the parotid gland on the surface of the patient’s chick and remove the whole parotid gland from one of both sides. After that, they examine surrounding tissues to find evidence of surrounding tissue involvement. In case they find any, they remove those tissues as well. Doctors make a few stitches and place a clean, aseptic dressing on the wound. Surgeons always try to avoid damaging nerves and major blood vessels. Still, unfortunately, it’s not always possible due to specific anatomical features of the operational field. Nevertheless, the operation remains among the most resultative therapy to eliminate the tumor.
