Cancer rehabilitation is a type of care that focuses on restoring cancer patients' physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This rehabilitation is done as an inpatient treatment and usually lasts 14 days and more. The process usually begins with examinations. It includes clinical history, records review, physical examination, and consultation with an oncologist, psychologist, and rehab specialist. These examinations aim to provide a complete understanding of the patient's condition and the required rehabilitation. The actual therapy involves several therapeutic interventions, including psychotherapy sessions, dynamic kinesitherapy (movement therapy), occupational therapy, ergotherapy, deep tissue muscle massage, lymphatic drainage massage, individual exercise programs and fitness, pain management, stress, anxiety, and depression management, nutritional counseling, and hydrotherapy (aqua therapy). These treatments are combined to help patients manage the physical, mental, and emotional challenges of cancer and its treatment. As a result, cancer rehabilitation improves physical function, pain control, and mental health and reduces the risk of cancer recurrence. After completing the course, patients receive further recommendations for recovery and well-being. The rehabilitation team guides exercise to continue at home, self-care techniques, and lifestyle modifications to improve the patient's overall state. By following these recommendations, patients can continue to improve their health beyond the program's duration.
