PD Dr. med. Hansjörg Aust

Dr. Hansjörg Aust studied medicine at Philipps University in Marburg an der Lahn from 1995 to 2002, and he received his doctorate in 2023 from the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine. Since 2008, he has been a lecturer in student teaching and the head of the "Patient Safety and Premedication" research team at Marburg University Hospital. In 2022, he completed his habilitation in anesthesiology at Philipps University Marburg and currently holds a teaching position there as a private lecturer. Dr. Aust completed his specialist training in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine at Marburg University Hospital under the supervision of Prof. Hinnerk Wulf. He also acquired additional qualifications in emergency medicine, "Special Anesthesiological Intensive Care Medicine," "Special Pain Therapy," and "Palliative Medicine. "He is a certified Health Care Manager and served as the Chief Physician of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at Ilmtal-Kliniken Pfaffenhofen and Mainburg from 2016 until June 2024. During this period, he served as Medical Director for 5 years and as Pandemic Officer for 2 years. PD Dr. Aust’s scientific focus is on perioperative patient safety and process organization. In July 2024, he joined our Medias Klinikum as the Head of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. In this role, he aims to expand our anesthesiology and intensive care services and support our studies on regional chemotherapy from an anesthesiological perspective.
