Stuttgart Hospital was created in 1999 by merging four municipal hospitals: Bürgerhospital, Katharinenhospital, Krankenhaus Bad Cannstatt, and Olgahospital. Currently, Stuttgart Hospital is an academic clinic of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and plays a vast role in growing new generations of Germany’s medical specialists. Today, around 40% of all Stuttgart’s hospital beds are located at the Stuttgart Hospital. The hospital is situated in three separate brick buildings in the center of Stuttgart. It has 2,200 beds and serves around 90,000 inpatients annually. The number of outpatient requests to Stuttgart Hospital usually surpasses 600,000 yearly. Today, the hospital has around 9,000 employees working in over 50 clinics. Stuttgart Hospital regularly receives various awards in competitions among Germany’s healthcare facilities and is included in lists of the best healthcare providers.
