Dr. med. Kirsten Wittke

Dr. med. Kirsten Wittke is a senior physician and specialist in internal medicine with a focus in hematology and oncology, based at Inoversity Hospital Charité in Berlin on the Campus Virchow-Klinikum. She works within the Institute of Medical Immunology in the Charité unit for immune deficiencies and post-infectious diseases and is part of the Charité Fatigue Centrum and Immunodeficiency Outpatient Clinic, where complex immune-related and post-infectious conditions are evaluated in an academic, interdisciplinary setting. A major clinical and scientific focus of Dr. Wittke’s work is the care of patients with ME/CFS and related post-acute infectious syndromes, including post-COVID presentations. In addition to longitudinal patient management, she contributes to research and clinical-study work aimed at improving diagnostic pathways, symptom-guided treatment strategies, and healthcare delivery models for these conditions. Dr. Wittke is actively engaged in cross-disciplinary professional collaboration and knowledge transfer. She is part of the ME/CFS Board of the German Society for ME/CFS, a clinician network designed to improve diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making through case conferences and interprofessional exchange, and she is involved in the PAIS Care Berlin project, which evaluates interdisciplinary care structures for people who remain ill after infections, supported by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Health.
