Dr. med. Daniel Zapp, FEBO

Dr. Zapp, FEBO (Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology), has been an invaluable member of our medical team since July 2008. He studied human medicine at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and completed his clinical elective at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Dr. Zapp earned his doctorate under the supervision of Prof. A. Kampik at the Mathildenstrasse Eye Clinic. As a long-time senior surgeon, he specializes in corneal surgery, including lamellar graft procedures such as DMEK. He also leads our glaucoma department, where he performs modern glaucoma surgery implants, including iStent, Preserflo, and Ahmed devices. Additionally, Dr. Zapp is one of our most experienced surgeons for intraocular procedures, including cataract surgery, urgent retinal surgery, trauma surgery, and emergency care. In May 2014, Dr. Zapp achieved first place in Europe in the European Specialist (FEBO) examination, a recognition of excellence. He was also awarded the title of best German participant by the German Ophthalmological Society in October 2014.
