About the department

The radiation oncology and radiotherapy department offers a broad spectrum of radiation therapies for oncological diseases. The unit provides its services at three locations in Charite. The centre is equipped with modern devices which allow performing highly-precise interventions. It is worth mentioning that the clinic is recognised among the top German clinics in the field of radiotherapy, according to the FOCUS. Furthermore, the department carries out scientific research, which significantly impacts new therapies development. Moreover, the head physician of the unit is an author of numerous publications where the investigation results are described.

The department is focused on modern radiotherapy techniques, including a broad range of high-precision stereotactic radiation, robot-assisted radiosurgery, etc. Special attention is paid to radio oncology focusing on head and neck, lung, gastrointestinal, uro-oncological, neuro-oncological, gynaecological and pediatric tumours. In addition, the medical team is well trained to perform supportive treatment, such as nutritional, psychological, and pain therapy.
