About the department

The pediatric psychiatry, psychosomatics and psychotherapy unit at University Hospital Charite Berlin specialises in the psychosomatic approach to diagnosing and treating different diseases in children. The unit's team consists of qualified psychiatrists and psychotherapists with considerable experience working with children. It is worth mentioning that the head physician of the clinic has gained medical expertise in different countries, including USA, Germany and Italy. Moreover, the chief has numerous research awards and is a member of various national and international societies in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Furthermore, the department conducts scientific research on the biopsychosocial model of illness. In addition, the unit is a teaching and training centre for university and post-graduate students.

The department is focused on diagnosing and treating mental diseases in children and adolescents. The patients get pharmacological and psychotherapy depending on each situation. Special attention is paid to psychosomatic disorders and chronic disease treatment.
