- 2004-2011 Consultant at the Transplantation Department at St. George's University Hospital in London
- 2011 Head of the Clinic of Transplant Surgery at IKEM, Prgaue
- Teaches at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague
Awards & Memberships
- 2013 Received the award Manager of the Year 2013 in Healthcare
- 2014 his team performed a world-first auxiliary liver transplant
- 2014 he transplanted five organs into a patient at once
- 2015 IKEM received permission for a uterus transplantation study . This was the first study in the world to include uterus transplants from both living and deceased donors. The first transplant was performed on April 30, 2016. In August 2019, the first child was born in the Czech Republic to a mother with a uterus transplant from a deceased donor, who herself had never been pregnant before.
- 2018 IKEM, in collaboration with the Vienna University Hospital Allgemeines Krankenhaus der Stadt Wien, launched the first international triple kidney exchange from living donors. At that time, IKEM doctors also used 3D printing of a donor kidney for the first time. This allowed them to send it to their Austrian colleagues in advance for detailed study before surgery.
