Prof. Jiri Fronek, Ph.D. FRCS

Prof. Jiri Fronek, Ph. D. FRCS is a highly accomplished surgeon with a remarkable career in transplantation. Graduating from the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University, he has worked at prestigious institutions such as Thomayer Hospital and St. George's University in London. Notably, in 2014, his team completed a groundbreaking auxiliary liver transplant and performed a transplant involving five organs in a single patient. Moreover, under his leadership at IKEM, the first successful uterus transplant study involving living and deceased donors was conducted, leading to the first child born in the Czech Republic from a mother with a deceased donor uterus in 2019.
