Prof. Dr. Cihan Meral

Prof. Dr. Cihan Meral is a highly experienced pediatric neurologist with 31 years of experience. He studied human medicine at the Gulhane Military Medical Academy in Istanbul and obtained a license for medical practice. He then specialized in pediatrics and received additional qualifications in pediatric neurology at the same academy. Prof. Dr. Meral has significantly contributed to pediatric neurology through research and scientific publications. He has authored 44 publications, including studies on juvenile absence epilepsy, idiopathic absence epilepsy, and myoclonic epileptic encephalopathy. His research focuses on identifying susceptibility genes for various types of epilepsy and improving the understanding and treatment of these conditions. Prof. Dr. Meral has held several prestigious positions throughout his career, including serving as the Head of the Department of pediatric diseases and pediatric neurology at the GATA Haydarpasa Training and Research Hospital. Currently, he works at the Department of pediatric neurology at the Memorial Atasehir Hospital in Istanbul.
