Department of ophthalmology

Dr. Castanera de Molina Fernando
ophthalmology

About the department

The ophthalmology department at Teknon Medical Center Barcelona offers a full range of diagnostics and treatments for patients with eye diseases. Twenty-five years of experience and the best conditions make the department a reference centre for ophthalmology. The department's team of ophthalmologists aims to carry out high-quality and advanced medical care and provide patients with the latest achievements and the most modern technologies to solve their vision problems. The department's ophthalmologists mainly use two surgical techniques to treat eye disorders - laser correction (Lasik) and correction using collagen lenses. Both methods are safe for the patient and very fast. On the same day after the intervention, the patient can go home and, the next day, leads an almost everyday life without the need to wear glasses or contact lenses.

The team of ophthalmologists has exceptional experience in the treatment of visual impairment, increased intraocular pressure and tear duct obstruction. Every year more and more patients seek medical help with dry eye syndrome. Doctors use the modern Endoret technique, in which the patient's plasma is applied in the form of eye drops. In addition, ophthalmologists specialize in removing benign and malignant tumours, cysts and warts of the eyelids.
