Laser-assisted liposuction

Laser-assisted liposuction or laser lipolysis is a cosmetic procedure when laser energy removes fat from the body. The process involves making small incisions in the skin and inserting a thin tube, which delivers laser energy to the fat cells. The laser heats the fat cells and breaks them down, making it easier to remove them. Laser-assisted liposuction is less invasiveness, reduces swelling and bruising, improves skin tightness, precise contouring, and a shorter recovery than traditional liposuction. However, it is not a weight loss solution. First, a general anesthetic is given to the patient to ensure they are comfortable during the procedure. Next, the doctor marks the areas where the fat will be removed. Minor cuts are made in the skin, and a laser fiber is put into the fat layer through one of the cuts; fat cells turn into a liquid, are taken out of the body, and the cuts are closed. After the procedure, the patient is watched to ensure they recover. The exact steps can change based on the surgeon's wants and the patient's needs. The surgery takes 1-2 hours, depending on the body parts involved. Usually, plastic surgeons perform laser liposuction for the abdomen, back, thighs, and arms.
