Hematological examination

A hematologist examination may be necessary for patients with fatigue, weakness, easy bruising, abnormal bleeding, and those diagnosed with blood problems or family history. During the hematological examination, the patient's medical history will be reviewed. A doctor conducts a physical exam and orders additional tests. Some standard exams include an ultrasound of the abdomen and lab tests. They have the complete blood count (CBC), coagulation tests that measure the blood's ability to clot, blood smear examination, and iron level studies. Also, biochemical and inflammation tests of blood and urine analyses are performed. If the patient has an indication, the bone marrow aspiration, biopsy, and histopathological specimen examination are included. The hematological check-up helps diagnose and monitor hematological disorders and evaluate the function of blood cells and coagulation; it helps diagnose various medical conditions, such as anemia, leukemia, and lymphoma. Early detection and treatment of hematological disorders help improve health and quality of life. Also, the regular exam will help to monitor the effectiveness of treatment for blood disorders, identify the cause of symptoms, assess the risk of bleeding or clotting disorders, and watch the overall health of patients with chronic illnesses such as cancer or kidney disease.
