About the offer

Limb-preserving surgery involves removing the bone tumor without amputating the entire limb. During the operation, it is possible to install metal endoprosthesis of bones and joints. Such interventions are pretty complex. The surgeon's task is not only to remove the tumor but also to preserve the nearest tendons, nerves, and blood vessels, as well as the functions and appearance of the limb. After recovery, the patient can return to his everyday life. After a complete examination, the tumor and the surrounding fragments of healthy bone tissue are removed. During surgery, doctors carefully monitor that tumor cells do not penetrate healthy tissues. For that, the arteries and veins are first bandaged, and the tumor is excised only then. Next, bone resection is performed at a distance of 5-6 cm from the neoplasm. Next, the removed area is replaced with a graft – bone tissue from another body part, or an endoprosthesis – a device made of metal or other materials. After installation, the prosthesis is covered with muscle flaps, and the necessary plastic is done. Attentive care and rehabilitation in the postoperative period help restore the joint's function and reduce the risk of unforeseen complications.
