About the offer

Drug therapy is the basis for treating trigeminal neuralgia and aims to eliminate inflammation and pain. The most effective means are anticonvulsants, such as carbamazepine, and its analogs of new generations. Medications eliminate pain, prevent arbitrary contractions and nerve pulsation, and have a retarding effect on the nervous system, so they usually cause drowsiness. Therapy begins with the minimum doses. Then, without a positive result, the neurologist gradually increases the dosage until the signs of neuralgia disappear. Treatment is continued for at least 30 days, after which a decision is made to reduce the dose. If the attacks resume, a second consultation with a doctor and a new revision of the dosage is required. Additionally, patients might be prescribed: Analgesics with a universal painkilling effect. Anti-inflammatory drugs based on ibuprofen. Corticosteroid (hormonal) drugs are used for severe edema and inflammation. Vascular preparations improve blood supply to the nerve. Antihistamines for a retarding effect. Sedatives and tranquilizers have a calming effect. Vitamin complexes based on group B vitamins strengthen and restore nerve tissues. Antibiotics are used when neuralgia develops against bacterial infections, particularly with otitis media, sinusitis, and sinusitis meningitis. Antivirus tools in cases where the cause of inflammation is a viral infection, for example, herpes. With intense painful sensations, nerve blockade can be used when pills and ointments do not bring the desired result.
