About the offer

Ablation is a safe method of exposure in cases where the bile duct tumor cannot be removed or may be an adjunct to surgery. Needle electrodes are inserted into the tumor percutaneously under ultrasound, CT, or MRI control. Using high-frequency current (450-500 kHz) heats tissues to a temperature of 90-110C°. High-frequency current can be supplied once or cyclically for a given time. A tissue necrosis zone is formed around the electrode. As a result, cancer cells die, but healthy tissues remain intact. Oncologists prescribe scans to determine the tumor location in the bile duct and qualify the patient for tumor ablation. The principle of action is based on the destruction of tumor cells by high temperatures:The insertion point of the electrode is determined. The patient is placed on the table in the most convenient position for accessing the tumor. Marking is applied to the skin at the electrode's insertion points.  The procedure is typically performed by an interventional radiologist and can be a good targeted option for cholangiocarcinoma treatment. Doctors report high treatment results helping to shrink the tumor with a low complication rate. Interestingly, the therapy method can be used repeatedly.
