Esophageal cancer treatment with endoscopic mucosal resection

Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) treats esophageal cancer, mainly when it hasn't spread deep into the esophagus walls. EMR starts with a thorough assessment of the patient's health history and a physical examination. Next, chest surgery, oncology, and anesthesiology specialists give expert advice on the treatment. The patient then undergoes lab tests and imaging studies to help doctors understand the cancer stage and determine if endoscopic surgery is the best option.
