About the offer

Ovarian cancer treatment with laparoscopic womb removal surgery, a so-called hysterectomy, is believed to be one of the treatment options with the lowest complication rate. For example, the risks of post-surgical infection decrease by up to 80% compared with open surgery. Among other benefits are a quicker return to average activity level and reduced stay in the hospital. Laparoscopic hysterectomy performed under general anesthesia. Surgeons make small holes (up to a few mm in diameter) in the belly, fill the abdomen with sterile gas, and insert the camera and surgical instruments via these holes. After that, under the camera guidance, surgeons carefully remove the patient's womb, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. Gynecologists mostly use electric coagulation apparatuses inserted via the same holes to stop bleeding. In most cases, three holes are enough to perform a laparoscopic womb removal. In the end, a doctor takes out surgical instruments and the camera. Next, small dressings are put on top of the holes. Finally, all removed organs send for an additional histopathological test (examinations under a microscope). The patient will need to remain in the hospital for a short time to ensure their post-surgery period is going well. In rare cases, the patient might need to visit the hospital for additional examination and changing dressings.
