About the offer

Suppose kidneys affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD) can't perform anymore and are about to be removed. In that case, the patient's most frequent option is to visit a hospital for dialysis for the rest of the day. Still, there is a slight possibility of finding a sufficient donor (a person who gave their organ for good) who will donate his kidney and allow the patient with PKD and removed kidneys to overgo transplantation, allowing him to avoid daily dialysis. Both donor and recipient (the person who will receive the donated organ) must undergo pre-surgery preparations, including a deep examination of their current condition, previous medical histories, and a set of lab and other tests. The main idea of the preparation is to ensure that the donor's kidney will suit the person with PKD and no organ rejection will occur. Also, donated kidneys might be transplanted from a dead donor as well. During the surgery, only general anesthesia is applicable. When surgeons reach the site of the recipient's kidney, they pick a donor's kidney and place it instead of the organ affected by PKD. Transplantation might be made after the previous recipient's kidney removal or at once with a nephrectomy (kidney removal surgery). Transplantation might take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours.
