Mid-facelift surgery

The middle face zone consists of the area of the lower eyelids, the buccal and zygomatic regions. Age-related changes in all these parts of the face are interrelated. Lifting the middle zone of the face will correct the drooping and flabby tissues in the cheeks, deep tear furrows, elongated lower eyelids, and other imperfections. As a result of the operation, the wrinkles of the nasolabial triangle are smoothed, the lost volume of the zygomatic area is restored, and the face acquires a fresher and more rested appearance. The mid-facelift procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts up to 2 hours. Depending on the indications, small incisions are made according to the markings made in advance, either in the area behind the ears or in the oral cavity. Surgical instruments and video assistants are inserted through those incisions. With the help of an endoscope, the plastic surgeon gets a good overview and access to problem areas. The surgeon exfoliates, moves, and fixes the tissues to higher positions. After that, stitches are carefully applied, and the patient recovers.
