About the offer

The rapid growth and large cyst in the brain make it necessary to perform open surgery to delete the formation. After such an intervention, the patient fully recovers and has no cyst or cyst walls remaining inside. A traditional craniotomy (brain surgery) is performed under general anesthesia. First, the hair is shaved off on the operated area. Then, the head is fixed on a unique headrest for better access and to avoid accidental movements. With a preliminary scan and a neuronavigation system, the neurosurgeon determines the most suitable place for trepanation. The procedure begins with cutting the scalp. Then the craniot (surgical tool for drilling the head) creates a removable bone flap (formed between the holes). It opens access to the brain. Next, the cyst with its contents is removed. At the end of the operation, the bone flap is put in place and fixed with special clips, and muscles and skin are sewn up. A drainage is placed inside the brain to remove excess blood and is set with one seam. Thus, the wound heals faster. The duration of surgery is about 2. 5 hours and might require some time for rehabilitation. In addition, the main benefit of brain cyst surgery is that patients receive complete cyst removal and prevent further cyst recurrence.
