Brain cyst diagnosis

Then, the doctor conducts a neurological examination. The most reliable method of detecting brain cysts is a brain MRI scan. It can tell about where the cyst is located, how it's changing, the shape of the brain cyst, and its walls. Studies are carried out with a contrast solution to distinguish a cyst from a tumor. A neurosurgeon may advise surgical removal of the cyst. However, if it is small and does not bother you, your doctor may instead recommend monitoring it. In this case, the patient is prescribed a regular MRI to see the cyst's growth and condition.
