About the department

The department of plastic and hand surgery at University Hospital rechts der Isar of the Technical University (TUM) Munich has an excellent reputation both nationally and internationally. The department presents research results every year at numerous congresses worldwide and uses them to expand the therapeutic spectrum of services provided to patients continuouslyOne of the research groups is focused on "Computer-Aided Plastic Surgery" (CAPS). The medical team has access to two fully equipped, state-of-the-art operating theatres and a separate operating room for outpatients. In addition, there is a 24-hour on-call service, including a replantation service for all emergencies related to the specialist area. 25 beds are located in the department wards. Accommodation is available on request in modern single and double rooms with new media terminals, TV, and internet access.

Experts in reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery, and hand surgery are working in the department. The surgeries include transplantation of tissues, replantation of fingers, hands, and arms, and traditional cosmetic surgery.
