Department of urology
The department of urology at University Hospital Frankfurt am Main of Goethe-University carries out clinical, academic, and research work in the disorders of the genitourinary organs. The department provides world-class urological cancer treatment, forming the Organization of the Prostate Cancer Center as a part of the University Center for Tumor Diseases (UCT). Equipment includes cutting-edge technologies for both treatment and diagnosis, such as DaVinci robot-assistant for surgery, multiparametric MRI, and more. A dozen senior physicians lead the team of professionals, including four professors. The ward has 20 beds for urological patients in double rooms, two four-bedded rooms, and one single room. There is also a lounge with a TV and reading corner available for patients.
The latest diagnostic procedures are used by a specialized, multidisciplinary team of doctors at the department, allowing the patients to save time and finish all diagnostic procedures in under 2 hours. The spectrum of treatment covers all surgical and non-surgical treatment of urological tumours, stones, and functional disorders of the genitourinary system.
