University Center for Tumour Diseases (UCT)
University Center for Tumour Diseases (UCT) at University Hospital Frankfurt am Main of Goethe-University is a joint institution of the University Hospital Frankfurt and the Faculty of Medicine at the Goethe University and the Northwest Hospital, founded in 2008. It aims to provide the best possible care for patients with cancer. In addition to patient care, this includes clinical research, interdisciplinary training, further education, and regional networking with all treatment partners. The Center coordinates the work of the Organ Cancer Centers, which have been certified according to the criteria of the German Cancer Society. The UCT is one of 13 "Top Oncological Centers" in Germany awarded by the German Cancer Aid. Furthermore, the UCT coordinates the cooperation of 25 hospitals in Frankfurt, Offenbach, the Main-Taunus district and the Main-Kinzig district, as well as in Rüsselsheim.
Numerous areas work together for cancer management: pharmacy, nutritional advice, genetic advice, surgical and conservative specialists, radiotherapists, palliative medicine, pathology, physiotherapy, psycho-oncology, radiology, pain therapy, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, neuropsychology, endocrinology, phoniatrics and speech therapy, dermatology, ophthalmology, and neuropathology.
