About the department

The department of diagnostic and interventional radiology at University Hospital Frankfurt am Main of Goethe-University is one of the most modern interventional radiology institutes in Germany and is a central part of the University Hospital. It provides radiological care at the highest scientific level, according to the latest criteria of radiation protection, as well as quality assurance. The department is a pioneer in modern interventional radiological procedures for malignant lesions such as TACE\TACP, TPCE and SIRT. The professor at the department conducts scientific research along with busy clinical activities. High-end imaging diagnostic and minimally invasive procedures are used. Germany's first angiography system with robotic technology for vascular imaging was presented at the department. The world's newest high-end computer tomograph with the lowest radiation dose, thanks to the fastest tube rotation time and ultra-fast scanning times allows conducting investigations in free breathing. Germany's first angiography system with robotic technology for vascular imaging was presented at the department.

There are several MRI and CT, angiography, and conventional X-ray available for diagnosis of all kinds of conditions. Minimally invasive devices for radiological and ultrasound interventions on tumours, vessels, and fibroids are available in a full range.
