About the department

The department of dermatology, venereology, and allergology at University Hospital Frankfurt am Main of Goethe-University offers all the options of modern high-performance medicine in diagnostics and therapy of skin and allergy diseases. The department operates under a quality management system by DIN EN ISO 9001. Six professors, among other experts, provide medical services for the patients at the department. More than 2000 inpatients and more than 16000 outpatients are treated annually. The facilities include outpatient clinics (in general dermatology, andrology, allergology, etc.), two inpatient wards with intervention and surgical rooms, a Skin Cancer Center as a part of the University Center for Tumor Diseases (UCT), and an Allergology/Urticaria Center.  

Four laboratories serve the needs of diagnostic analysis of the department, performing tests on bodily materials such as skin tissue and blood serum. In addition, all conditions regarding skin, sexually transmitted disorders, and allergies are treated with up-to-date methods, such as laser therapy, light therapy, and aesthetic surgery.
