About the department

The department of interventional radiology at Academic Hospital Sachsenhausen Frankfurt am Main offers the treatment for various conditions where interventional radiological options can be applied and vascular diseases using modern, minimally invasive procedures. Interventional radiology is one of the innovations of modern high-performance medicine, which has made fantastic progress in recent years. Interventional radiologists use x-rays, ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, so image-guided procedures affect all body areas. The department staff is trained to provide patients with the best possible support in both outpatient and inpatient care. Versatile methods of interventional radiology with innovative treatment methods can be widely applied in various treatment procedures. Therefore doctors use an interdisciplinary approach.

The main direction of the department is interventional angiology.
