About the department

The department of ophthalmology at Kardiolita Hospital Vilnius provides services for diagnosing and treating various eye diseases and visual impairments. Ophthalmic services are available in both outpatient and inpatient settings. All department doctors have a scientific degree and are members of international ophthalmological communities so that they can guarantee treatment according to the highest medical standards. Before receiving recommendations for treatment, patients undergo complex diagnostic procedures, including ocular ultrasound, exophthalmometry, fluorescein angiography, computed tomography and optical coherence tomography of the eye. Then, depending on the diagnostic results, doctors prescribe an individual treatment regimen, giving preference to the selection of lenses or glasses, drug therapy and physiotherapy.

Doctors specialize in treating glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, and inflammatory diseases of the eyes and eyelids. The department offers only innovative treatment methods, which is why laser therapy is used for many eye pathologies. Experienced specialists also provide surgical treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, eyelid conjunctiva and age-related macular degeneration.
