Martha-Maria Hospital in Munich is over 130 years old. It was founded in 1889 by the deaconesses Luise Schneider and Elise Heidner as a general nursing facility in Nuremberg. Martha-Maria is an independent diaconal organization in the United Methodist Church and a member of the diaconal organization. Martha-Maria includes hospitals, nursing schools, senior centers, and recreation facilities with more than 4,300 employees in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, and Saxony-Anhalt.  The hospital is also an academic teaching hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.  The facilities are located on the outskirts of Munich, in a spacious, green park. The hospital has 110 beds across 3 departments.
