The department of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and plastic-reconstructive surgery at University Hospital rechts der Isar of the Technical University (TUM) Munich is an experienced team of doctors, speech therapists and medical-technical assistants as well as the nursing staff who treats all diseases of the specialized area and the various border areas. The head of the department is a world-class academician, a member of Leopoldina, and a professor with more than 550 publications. The ENT clinic consists of three wards with 50 beds, four operating rooms, a sleep laboratory with five beds, a university outpatient clinic, a voice medicine centre (phoniatrics) and a children's hearing disorders centre (pediatric audiology). More than 3,000 inpatient and around 28,000 outpatient cases are treated annually. Modern and brightly furnished single, double, triple and four-bedded rooms are available. 

The department is equipped with modern computer-aided 3D navigation for the surgery of the head and neck. The department is deeply involved in scientific research, diagnosis and treatment of tumours, hearing disorders, allergies and autoimmunity, and sleep-related respiratory disorders. Treatment options include conservative (medications), surgery and interventional treatment.
