Rambam Health Care Campus Haifa is a highly specialized medical facility founded in 1938. The hospital is the largest medical center in northern Israel and the fifth largest in Israel. The medical center is named after the 12th-century physician-philosopher Rabbi Moshe Ben-Maimon, known as the Rambam. The Rambam Health Care Campus is a 1,000-bed academic hospital serving more than 2 million residents of Northern Israel. Every year, the medical team treats more than 100,000 inpatients and 750,000 outpatients and performs more than 60,000 surgical procedures. Rambam is a tertiary referral center for 12 district hospitals and provides comprehensive medical services across all medical specialties. The medical center has 36 departments, 45 medical units, nine institutes, six laboratories, and 30 administrative departments.
