adult and paediatric urology

About the department

The department of urology with prostate cancer centre at Helios Hospital Krefeld offers a full spectrum of diagnosing and treating all diseases of the urogenital tract in adults and children. Various procedures are available in the department depending on symptoms, prostate size, health status and patient preferences. One of the interests is the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. As a standard procedure, doctors use prostate enucleation with a holmium laser. The technique has several advantages for the patient, including minimal invasiveness, the ability to use the method even with a significant increase in the prostate (more than 100 grams) and the ability to study tissue in the laboratory. Surgeons plan each operation with great care, calculating the minor nuances. The department's medical team is also actively engaged in research and development activities, which allows the use of the most modern therapy options.

In addition to prostatic hyperplasia, the department specializes in urolithiasis, urinary tract cancer, urinary incontinence, and andrological diseases. Pediatric urology diagnoses and treats all congenital and acquired kidney diseases, recurrent urinary tract infections, and bedwetting. Any therapeutic intervention is assigned to each patient individually, considering the specific clinical situation.
