Prof. Dr. med. Mathias Bahr

Prof. Dr. med. Mathias Bahr is a highly experienced and accomplished neurologist and epileptologist with 38 years of experience in the field. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Tuebingen and completed his training in neurology at University Hospitals in Tuebingen and Duesseldorf. He has specialized in neurology and epileptology. Dr. Bahr has made significant contributions to the field of neuroscience through his extensive research and publications. He has published over 500 articles in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on various aspects of neurobiology and neurodegenerative diseases. His research has earned him prestigious awards, including the Heinrich-Pette Award and the Award of the Hannelore Kohl Foundation. Currently, Dr. Bahr is the Director of the Department of neurology, epilepsy, and dementia center at the University Hospital Gottingen in Germany. He is also the Speaker of the Cluster of Excellence Center for Nanoscale Microscopy and Molecular Physiology of the Brain and the Coordinator of the division "Aggregation-disorders" at the excellence cluster "Certain diseases and drugs, like chronic non-malignant back pain". Dr. Bahr’s expertise and leadership have led to his involvement in various national and international committees and foundations, including the German Society for Neurology and the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases.
