About the department

The uro-oncology centre at Urological Clinic Munich-Planegg treats 1000 prostate cancer patients per year. Since May 2009, the Urological Clinic Munich - Planegg has been the first certified prostate centre in Munich and thus a highly specialized contact point for men with benign and malignant conditions. Treatment rooms and operating theatres were completely renovated in 2017. The clinic is rated as a "Top National Hospital in prostate diseases" (Focus Clinic List 2017). Additionally, URO-Cert certified it as a urological competence centre based on assured quality by ISO 9001: 2015. The chief physicians are among the 'top physicians' in urology and have more than 20 years of surgical experience. The risk of impotence and incontinence is not the same in all hospitals and depends significantly on the surgeons' experience. Additionally, The da Vinci® robot is available for prostate surgery to ensure safety and efficacy. The staff ensures that patients have a pleasant stay in the clinic.

The full spectrum of diagnostic methods is available, such as lab tests, chromosomal and histological (tissue) analysis, visualization techniques, etc. Benign and malignant tumours of all areas of the urinary tract are targeted. The treatment methods include surgical, systemic, and local drug/radiation therapy and other advanced options.
