About the department

The andrology centre at Urological Clinic Munich-Planegg is an internationally-recognized centre for male fertility and genital disorders. The department is headed by a renowned professor, academician, and scientist with over 35 years of experience and is recognized as the 2021 top andrologist by the Focus list. The no-scalpel vasectomy technique was introduced in Germany by a professor who performed it for the first time in Germany and has used it successfully in around 3,000 patients since the late 1980s. The centre cooperates with the Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology at LMU Munich and promotes science in andrology. The most modern and safe techniques are used at the department, thanks to the newest equipment for microsurgical interventions and fertility medicine. In addition, the department is involved in the management of rare diseases, such as Klinefelter syndrome, and is involved in some humanitarian work in Africa.

The list of treatment priorities includes male infertility and various disorders of the male genital system. Treatment options are conservative (non-surgical, drug prescription) and surgical (minimally invasive, open surgery). Modern male fertility treatment options are also the critical focus of medical services.
