Department of pulmonology
The department of pulmonology at University Hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for all patients with acute and chronic lung diseases. The department aims to diagnose the various clinical pictures precisely and in a targeted manner and to provide them with efficient therapy. The department has inpatient beds, including bed contingents in elective service wards, monitoring and intensive care wards, and day wards. In addition, there are 2 units and an advanced Sleep Laboratory for the treatment of sleep disorders. More than 2,000 patients are treated in the department annually. The department of pulmonology is a member of the Munich Allergy Center. In addition, the department conducts active clinical research to develop new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of pulmonary diseases. Patients can take part in trials of the latest innovative drugs.
The pulmonology department focuses on the treatment of diseases of the lungs, bronchi and upper respiratory tract. The departments use modern equipment to diagnose and treat various conditions such as bronchial asthma, neoplasms in the thoracic organs, mucoviscidosis, lung hypertension and others.
