About the department

The department of urology at the University Hospital Charite Berlin specialises in diagnosing and treating urinary tract diseases in males and females. The unit is organised into divisions, including the uro-oncology section, urogynaecology section and the section for uro-oncological surgery. In cooperation, the uro-oncology and oncological surgery sections deal with conservative and surgical treatment of tumorous diseases. Moreover, the clinic was recognised as the ERUS (EAU Robotic Urology Section) centre of the European Association of Urology for new research and implementation of surgical training in robotic surgery. Furthermore, the department has a tight network with the CCCC (Charite Comprehensive Cancer Center). Finally, it is worth mentioning that the head physician of the clinic is an author of numerous publications and books and participates with the whole unit team in research projects, such as Cancer Genome Research.

The department is focused on the conservative and surgical treatment of the bladder, kidneys and other organs of the urinary tract. In addition, the department's specialists perform high-quality therapy for kidney malformations, urinary stones, sexual disorders, urological cancer, etc.
