About the department

The Tinnitus centre at the University Hospital Charite Berlin specialises in medical help for people with tinnitus and its complications. In addition, the German Foundation Tinnitus & Hearing Charite was established at the unit, contributing to public education and research. The professional team ensures high-quality and interdisciplinary care with the help of close cooperation with physiotherapists and specialists in internal medicine, psychology and psychosomatics. Moreover, the clinic conducts numerous research in tight connection with the research laboratory of the clinic for ENT in the University Hospital Charite Berlin. Clinical research in psychology is also carried out on the department's basis. Furthermore, the tinnitus centre cooperates with international universities, including those in the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, etc. It is worth saying that the chairwoman of the unit was a president of world congresses in otorhinolaryngology.

The medical focus of the department lies in improving the quality of life in patients with chronic tinnitus. Therefore, special attention is paid to psychological and emotional disorders in such people. Moreover, experienced doctors provide a detailed individual diagnosis of each case.
