Department of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery

The department of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery at the University Hospital Charite Berlin offer the entire therapy spectrum of diseases of ear, nose and throat (ENT). The team consists of 25 experienced and skilled doctors who perform 3,500 operations and observe around 40,000 patients yearly. Moreover, the unit cooperates closely with the specialists in neurosurgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery departments, which ensures a multidisciplinary approach to severe medical conditions. In addition, the clinic is engaged in national and international experimental and clinical research in rhinology, allergology, otoneurology, etc. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the head physician of the otolaryngology centre is a member of German and European societies and working groups for otolaryngology, allergology and immunology. 

The medical focus of the department lies in the detailed diagnosis and comprehensive treatment of nose and nasal sinuses conditions, especially diseases of allergic origin. In addition, the unit specialises in ear disease treatment, surgeries on the middle ear and implanting. The other focal point includes ENT tumour treatment.
