About the department

The department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University Hospital Charite Berlin offers a full range of surgeries on the face and oral cavity. The clinic is one of the biggest in Europe in its field. The unit is modernly equipped with state-of-art medical devices and has high-quality surgical materials at its disposal. Furthermore, the centre provides interdisciplinary cooperation with other medical facilities in Charite. Moreover, the department is a research centre of Charite, which conducts investigations in regenerative medicine, oncology and medical engineering. Finally, the clinic is an academic teaching centre which prepares experienced and skilled surgeons. It is also essential to add that the head physician of the clinic is a member and fellow of the European Board of Oro-Maxillo-Facial Surgery. 

The department is focused on face, neck and oral cavity surgeries as well as dentistry. The particular focal points of the unit include surgical treatment of head and neck tumours, injuries and post-traumatic reconstruction. Particular attention is given to jaw surgeries and bites correction.
