The hospital houses the largest and most technologically advanced infectious diseases department in the Czech Republic, serving as the primary national quarantine fortress and containment node for high-consequence pathogens, including viral hemorrhagic fevers and highly contagious global strains. This pavilion is uniquely engineered with biosafety-level containment zones, negative-pressure isolation chambers, and fully autonomous waste-treatment systems.
